blogggg:)

We have been reading this graphic novel Persepolis. It is a really great book, it has everything that a reader needs. It is really easy to relate to because even though it is about a girl's life, it still shows conflicts with parents and stuff like that. It's very interesting and keeps me entertained the entire time I'm reading it.

biggity bloggin

Last week, Max Kelley, Aly Wolff, Michael Dolan, and I made a video about the play "Fences". It was a really fun project to do and I think it came out pretty well. When we started out, we never really figured we would finish it, but after two hours of filming we finally got about 9 minutes of film that we could show. I believe the songs we chose really worked well with the scene's we did. For a little extra credit, Max Kelley and I did a rap. It didn't really turn out very well because the music was louder than our voices. I hope when Kunkle puts headphones on, it will work.

Tropic Thundaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

The movie I chose to BLOG about is Tropic Thunder. It takes a less serious look at war and spices it up with comedy. They are working on shooting the most expensive war movie ever. They try to make it as real as they could make it, but all of a sudden, the camera guy dies and then they find themselves in a real life war. They don't know its real, they just think its all actors and special affects. The film makers are trying to say that war is unexpected and you have to be ready to fight no matter what. A similaratary of this movie to slaughterhouse five is that one of the actors becomes a POW just like Billy. Mary O'Hare would not like this movie because it kind of mocks war and she has lived through it and she would feel bad.

time where I wasn't a loner..

A time where I felt like I was a part of something was my Junior year Basketball season. We were all so close and all got a long. Even though I rarely played, I really felt like I was apart of the team. We would have team building days and team sleepovers. It was the best team I have ever been apart of.

true west blog!

True West is a play we are watching this week in class. It is a very good story, but the drunk brother is really getting to annoy me. It's like get a life man and stop bringing down your brother with you. His brother is an aspiring screen writer but the drunk is trying to steal his thunder. The drunk beat the producer in a bet so the producer threw out the project the one brother has been working on for the drunks play. It made me so mad! I hope that the drunk doesn't get too ahead of himself and think he is going to make it. I'm excited to watch the end of this play.

metamorphosis! :D

When I, Dalton Peterson, awoke from unsettling dreams, I found myself changed into a huge life size teddy bear. My fur is white, and I have a little hat. My ears are perked up constantly and my lips are sealed shut. I can't believe I can't talk! I go to get out of my bed and I realize I can't move my feet because I have no muscles or bones. I lay their waiting for someone to come into my room, then something hits me. My room is locked, how am I going to do anything?! I'm a worthless, but cute, teddy bear that can't move! What am I supposed to do? My sister, Sawyertina, comes to my door and knocks on it. "Dalton get up, time to go to school!" She hears no reply so she starts banging on the door as hard as she can, still no answer. So now she starts to worry, "What happened to him?" "is he okay?" She rushes downstairs and gets their parents. Robbie, the dad, just so happens to have a device to pick locks, a paperclip. He opens the door slowly, not sure what he is going to find in there. He tells the girls to stay back, he wants to be the big man. He flips on the light very slowly, and all of a sudden he shrieks like a little girl and runs out of the room. He tells the rest of the family what he saw; Sawyertina goes into the room because she is curious like a cat. She doesn't believe it, there I am sitting in my bed all fluffy and cuddly. She has never been so excited, she starts jumping on me and moving me around. She is having the time of her life, and lets face it, so am I. Turns out, I never get turned back to normal and Sawyertina does tea parties with me and dresses me up. THE END:)

I love Blogging

While in class today, we started watching a movie about Jackie Robinson. It's amazing that we overcame slavery, but we couldn't have black people in the MLB. I found it funny when they said "the white players were scared that they were going to get their positions stolen." That line is so true. When you look at sports today, it is prodominently black players and a few white players. Why do you think this is? Is this a way of God getting back at us for slavery?

classroom bloggin

This week in class we are talking about the famous play "Fences". It is a great book! I think the part that was the most powerful was when Cory started to defy Troy. I think in every kids life, they will one day stand up to their parents. Maybe they won't go as far as leaving the parents household. But they do stand up to their parents and tell them to treat them like they are grown ups.

Bloggin!!!

In our class this week, we have been discussing segregation a lot. I feel that segregation is a bad thing and should never ever be allowed to happen. The only reason it exsisted was because of narrowheaded pricks who were too afraid that the blacks were going to be better then them. Look what happened..they are better. I for one am happy that blacks are allowed in our society, they really bring another culture we would never get to experience otherwise.

bloggin man!

We have learned a lot in last weeks classes, but what I found the most interesting was when we went downtown and had the opprotunity to sit in on college classes. Sitting in on that class was so fun, it really made me realize that college is a lot more fast paced then high school. You have to take good notes and be able to pay attention and keep yourself on track. It'll be really hard to do for myself, but I think I am up to the challenge.

first post everyone!

My interests include sports, friends, and women. All of those things are very near and dear to me.

After high school, I am planning on going to MATC for two years to get my general studies out of the way then transferring to UW-Madison. When I go to UW, I plan on majoring in accounting and minoring in business management.

My favorite book would have to be Holes because it keeps you on the edge of your seat at all times. My favorite movie would have to be Titanic because it is such a great story line, nothing could ever top that movie. My favorite type of music really depends on my mood, I listen to everything and anything as long as it sounds good.
